The Mozartmania Classical Music Festival in L'Alfàs del Pi will conclude this Saturday, October 31st, with a performance of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's ‘Requiem KV 626’, one of the most emblematic works of sacred music.
The concert, scheduled for 8:00 PM at the Casa de Cultura, will mark the end of an edition that has featured four musical proposals spanning different styles and eras. The closing performance will be by the Orquesta Art Creare, accompanied by a choir of approximately 50 voices, comprising the Cor Tutte Voci and Coral Juan Ramón Herrero, and a symphony orchestra of 35 musicians.
The performance will also feature four vocal soloists: Jennibel Hernández (soprano), Joana Thomè (mezzo-soprano), Jorge Franco (tenor), and Javier Agudo (baritone). The musical direction will be led by Josep Gil.
The Councillor for Culture, Manuel Casado, highlighted the importance of closing this 36th edition with a work of the musical and emotional significance of Mozart's Requiem. Casado encouraged citizens to attend this final festival event, emphasizing the diversity of this year's program, which aimed to bring classical music closer to all audiences.
The ‘Requiem KV 626’ is one of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's best-known compositions and a fundamental piece in the sacred repertoire, recognized for its expressive intensity and orchestral richness.
The 36th edition of Mozartmania has offered four concerts at the Casa de Cultura throughout October, with proposals covering various musical languages. The program began with the Mozartmania Festival Orchestra, which connected classical music with major pop and rock hits; it continued with Cuarteto Macondo, blending baroque repertoire, waltzes, and soundtracks; and the third event featured the Orquesta de las Jornadas Hispano Noruegas, performing works by Vivaldi and Mozart.
The closing performance is supported by a grant from the Institut Valencià de Cultura (IVC). Tickets are priced at 5 euros and can be purchased at the Casa de Cultura box office on the day of the concert.
