The Alicante Provincial Council has granted 1,134.03 euros to the Villajoyosa City Council to promote addiction prevention programs during 2026.

This financial contribution aims to fund awareness actions carried out for World Health Day. The project seeks to promote healthy lifestyles among children aged 3 to 12.
According to the Department of Social Services and Equality, the initiative, managed by the Community Prevention Unit for Addictive Behaviors (UPCCA), addresses current issues such as digital sedentary lifestyles and early overexposure to screens. The goal is to offer healthier leisure and nutrition alternatives for children.
The program included activities at La Barbera Park, featuring the educational play Cuentilandia y los hábitos saludables by Tramant Teatre. Additionally, an information stand was set up to distribute fruit, water, and informative materials to promote emotional well-being from a family perspective.
This action is part of the ongoing preventive work carried out by the UPCCA in coordination with local schools, following programs accredited by the Department of Health.
