The Norwegian Church in l'Albir hosted a literary afternoon with nearly 250 people, featuring Norwegian writer and journalist Sidsel Wold, who shared her international and literary experience.

The event, part of the Hispano-Norwegian Days, was a success, with the venue filled to hear the author discuss her professional and literary career. Wold spoke with translator and cultural promoter Kirsti Baggethun about her work as a correspondent in the Middle East.
The journalist, known for her work with Norwegian public television NRK, covered the region in two periods (2007-2011 and 2016-2022), based in Jerusalem and Istanbul, respectively. Her experience has allowed her to address complex political and social events, with a particular focus on the conflict between Israel and Palestine.
Wold has received several awards for her journalistic work and has also published literary works. Notable among them are Warra! Warra!: Da de hvite kom til Australia (1999), which won a debut award for children's and young adult literature; Checkpoint: En beretning fra Midtøsten (2006), focusing on her experience in the Middle East; Landet som lovet alt: Min israelske reise (2015), about her relationship with Israel; and Israel – et land i kamp med seg selv (2025), which analyzes the country's internal political and social tensions.
The conversation offered insight into Wold's various facets, from the challenges of journalism in conflict zones to the documentation and reflection process accompanying her books, allowing the audience to better understand the reality of the Middle East.
The high attendance confirms the interest in the cultural offerings of the Hispano-Norwegian Days, now in its twenty-fourth edition, which runs until Saturday, the 24th, in l’Alfàs del Pi, aiming to strengthen cultural ties between Spain and Norway.
