The Regional Council for Equality of Marina Baixa (CCIMB) held its monthly meeting in Callosa d’en Sarrià, where upcoming awareness campaigns were coordinated, with special attention to preventing the trafficking of women and girls for sexual exploitation.

Representatives from the municipalities of Callosa d’en Sarrià, Benidorm, Finestrat, La Nucía, l’Alfàs del Pi, and Polop, along with the Mancomunitat de la Marina Baixa, participated in the session. Planned actions for the coming months were discussed, focusing on initiatives aimed at preventing trafficking and raising public awareness about this form of violence against women.
The Regional Council, established in 2017, comprises the Equality departments of the town councils of Villajoyosa, Benidorm, Altea, La Nucía, l’Alfàs del Pi, Callosa d’en Sarrià, Polop, and Finestrat, together with the Mancomunitat de la Marina Baixa. Monthly meetings, held on a rotating basis, aim to unify efforts, share experiences, and promote equality policies at the local level.
The goal of this joint work is to strengthen prevention, foster greater social awareness of the different forms of violence against women, and move towards a more egalitarian region committed to protecting the rights of women and girls.
