The municipality of L'Alfàs del Pi kicked off the 38th edition of its film festival this Saturday, an event consolidated in the cultural landscape of the Marina Baixa region.

The opening gala served to recognize the career of three performers, who received the Faro de Plata award. As is tradition, the winners will have their own star on the Paseo marítimo del Cine, one of the most iconic spaces in the town.
The festival maintains its relevance in the film sector, as the winning short film will gain direct access to the pre-selection for the Goya Awards and the Fugaz Awards. This year, the jury selected 21 works to compete in the official section out of 1,014 submissions received.
During the eight days of the festival, the Cine Roma, the house of culture, and the Villa Romana will host the screening of 35 feature films and around fifty short films. The organization is distributing a total of 9,800 euros in prizes, including specific categories for Valencian production, animation, and films directed by women.
