The initiative, which has the collaboration of hospitality establishments, businesses, residents, and tourists, will begin at 10 AM on Tomás Ortuño street, near l’Hort de Colón. There, the euros donated by citizens for the organization of festive events will be collected.
The councilor for the area, Mariló Cebreros, explained that the queens of the Fiestas Mayores Patronales 2026, Laura Ivars Marín and Carmen Guillem Campos, along with their honor courts, the president of the Commission, Ramón Cano, and members of the Municipal Corporation, will participate in the kickoff. The goal is to support the fundraising to ensure successful festivals.
Cebreros has called on citizens and collaborating companies to come to l’Hort de Colón during the day to deposit their donation in one-euro coins. Additionally, she recalled that the queens and their ladies-in-waiting will tour commercial areas to collect more contributions.
As an alternative, the Commission will set up a bar where attendees can enjoy a small snack or a drink. The initiative ‘Un metre per la festa’ is also maintained, allowing groups, businesses, and friends to participate by contributing 43 euros, equivalent to one linear meter of collaboration.
