The town councils of l'Alfàs del Pi and Altea are collaborating with MEMBA on the solidarity campaign ‘A Breakfast with Heart’ during November, under the slogan ‘A handbag, an opportunity’, to raise funds for Corazón Exprés.

The campaign, which has the collaboration of MEMBA (Association for the Development of Entrepreneurial Women of Marina Baixa) and Corazón Exprés, proposes donating new handbags with a financial contribution or participating in solidarity breakfasts and appetizers. The proceeds will be used to support women in situations of risk and social exclusion.
The initiative was presented in l'Alfàs del Pi with the participation of representatives from MEMBA, Corazón Exprés, and the councilors for Cooperation and Volunteering, and for Commerce and Consumption. Chiara Broekhus, owner of the establishments La Esquina and Katavi and a member of MEMBA's board of directors, also attended.
To collaborate, you can donate a new handbag, properly packaged and with a minimum contribution of 20 euros, at the collaborating establishments: La Esquina (av. País Valencià, 25, l'Alfàs del Pi), Katavi (plaza Mayor, 5, l'Alfàs del Pi), and Malbec Groove (av. País Valencià, 23, Altea). The venues will store the donations until they are delivered to Corazón Exprés.
The other option is to participate in the solidarity breakfasts and appetizers offered by the establishments. La Esquina offers a breakfast for 7 euros; Katavi, an appetizer for 5 euros (including a beer or glass of house wine and two croquettes); and Malbec Groove, a breakfast for 8.50 euros and an appetizer for 5.50 euros.
Corazón Exprés supports vulnerable women, including single mothers and pregnant women with insufficient resources, by offering financial aid, social services support, job search guidance, and connections with companies.
MEMBA aims to involve both citizens and the business community of l'Alfàs del Pi and Altea, turning small daily gestures into opportunities to help other women. The initiative also includes informative posters in Spanish and English.
