At least one vehicle caught fire during the night of Tuesday in the municipal public parking lot known as Llunàtics, located on Ronda de Muralles in Dénia. The fire almost completely engulfed the affected car, which was parked in the area closest to the street. Images taken from outside the premises show the extent of the incident.
The causes of the fire are still unknown. The situation was particularly dangerous as this is one of the most frequented parking lots in Dénia's urban center, due to its proximity to the city center. The parking lot, situated next to the Túnel del Castillo, is usually full of vehicles both day and night.
The damaged vehicle was removed last night. However, early this Wednesday morning, a large black stain could still be observed on the parking lot's asphalt, as well as soot-stained remains from the fire. Firefighters and Local Police units were dispatched to the scene. The Civil Protection headquarters is located just a few meters away.
