The incident took place around nine in the morning near the Ondara exit, when two vehicles collided and overturned several times. According to the Provincial Firefighters Consortium, one of the cars belonged to a resident of Pedreguer, while the other vehicle was occupied by a family from Luxembourg, consisting of the father and his daughter.
Firefighters from the Dénia station had to carry out extrication efforts to free the victims, paying special attention to a 21-year-old young woman, who was the most affected of the family group. The Luxembourg family suffered the most severe consequences of the impact.
All the injured were initially taken to the Hospital de Dénia. Subsequently, the young woman required transfer by helicopter to the Hospital de Valencia for more specialized medical attention.
