A total of 1,491 students started the new school year in Pego this Monday in the kindergarten, primary, and secondary education levels. The first day of class was marked by the excitement of reunions and the creation of a positive school atmosphere from the outset.
At the Municipal Kindergarten La Trilladora, 64 students have commenced their studies. Meanwhile, the CEIP Ambra hosts 186 students. Its director, Patricia Bataller, expressed the faculty's enthusiasm to continue working in a school focused on respect, inclusion, coexistence, and cooperation, aiming for students to feel like active participants in the center.
Bataller recalled that the first day is particularly dedicated to welcoming students, fostering an energetic and positive environment for a year full of learning. At CEIP Carolina Sala, the number of students has increased compared to the previous year, with 197 enrolled, and the enrollment period remains open.
The CEIP Rosalia Bondia has also seen an increase in student numbers, with 180 children starting the year. The new director, Anabel Pascual, noted that ongoing construction work at the center has necessitated some organizational changes, but she is optimistic about the final outcome, promising a "very cool" school.
To welcome the students, the teaching staff at Rosalia Bondia organized a musical entrance featuring instruments made from recycled materials, accompanied by a special performance by the group Batugària.
Regarding other centers, the Sant Antoni School has 307 students for this 2026/2027 academic year. The IES Enric Valor has registered 557 students, divided into 312 in ESO (Compulsory Secondary Education), 134 in Baccalaureate, and 107 in Vocational Training, with registrations still in progress.
Additionally, the Pérez Ramos Municipal Center for Adult Education already has 130 registered individuals, and the enrollment period is still open. Throughout September, interested parties can sign up for workshops in furniture restoration, painting, and theater, with registration taking place on the ground floor of the Pego Town Hall.
