According to data provided by the local council, the town currently records an unemployment rate of 8.2%. This positive trend represents a significant improvement compared to records from nearly two decades ago, consolidating a downward trend in the number of people without employment in the municipality.
The local administration highlighted that this improvement is the result of active participation in various employment programs. Implemented measures include employment workshops, support for economic promotion, and the encouragement of entrepreneurship. Additionally, there has been collaboration with plans promoted by the Department of Economy and support for the industrial sector through the co-financing of IVACE loans for the improvement of industrial areas.
At the regional level, the situation in Pedreguer remains below the average. The 8.2% rate is lower than that of other municipalities in the Marina Alta with more than 5,000 inhabitants, as well as the data recorded for the region, the province, and the autonomous community.
