The technical report prepared by the Institute of Coastal Ecology, as part of the Coastal Control Network 2026 program, confirms the 'optimal' environmental quality of the marine waters bathing the coast of Dénia. The Foundation for the Conservation of Marine, Coastal, and Terrestrial Ecosystems, after analyzing the data, has given the highest rating to Dénia's coastline, as no indicator exceeds the established regulatory limits.
Data was collected during the annual cycle from July 2025 to June 2026, through regular sampling initiated last summer. The coast has been divided into 7 zones for analysis: Les Rotes (Punta Negra), Marineta Cassiana, Punta del Raset, Les Marines, Punta Molins, the mouth of the Girona River, and Les Deveses.
To obtain the information, satellite measurements from the Copernicus satellite were combined with quarterly on-site sampling using a multiparametric probe. The parameters analyzed include water temperature, dissolved oxygen, salinity, pH, nitrates, and turbidity.
As a result of the continuous analysis, the institute has concluded that all sampling stations in Dénia exhibit 'optimal' water quality.
