Marina Alta Exceeds 41º Before Red Alert

Pedreguer, Pego, and inland areas record the highest temperatures, with very high levels also in Dénia.

The Marina Alta region has exceeded 41 degrees Celsius before the red alert was activated, with significant readings recorded in Pedreguer, Pego, and Dénia.

The Marina Alta region experienced extreme temperatures this Wednesday, August 19th, surpassing 39 degrees Celsius before the official red alert for heat, declared by Aemet, was activated at 1:00 PM. According to Avamet data, by 12:45 PM, temperatures had already exceeded 39 degrees in locations such as Pedreguer, l’Atzúvia, and the center of Pego.
Half an hour later, at 1:28 PM, the Dénia City Council reported that the Madrigueres area had also surpassed 39 degrees. The heat continued to intensify throughout the afternoon.
By 2:30 PM, Avamet indicated that Pedreguer and Benigembla were approaching 41 degrees Celsius, while Pego, Els Poblets, and La Vall de Gallinera had already exceeded 40 degrees.
