The heat episode, which began this week, is expected to be particularly intense in the pre-coastal and inland areas. The official warning will be in effect from 12:00 PM to 7:59 PM, when the highest values of the day are expected.
In addition to the maximums, minimum temperatures will also be very high, potentially reaching 27 degrees. These conditions will lead to torrid nights, where the mercury will not drop below 25 degrees. According to current forecasts, temperatures are not expected to drop until Friday, July 10.
Data from the Parcent observatory indicate that this episode is extraordinary. In its 36 years of records, the 42-degree barrier has only been reached or exceeded on four occasions, representing a minimal percentage of the total days analyzed.
