The flames, which produced a large amount of black smoke, engulfed the classic vehicle as it was about to refuel. Firefighters quickly arrived at the scene to prevent the fire from spreading to the rest of the gas station facilities, thus averting a potentially major disaster.
Images of the incident, shared by members of a Citroën classic car club, show the extent of the fire. Fortunately, the incident caused no personal injuries or material damage beyond the affected vehicle.
This is the second vehicle fire to occur within the urban area of Dénia in less than a week. Last Tuesday, another car burned in the Llunàtics parking lot.
