The Montgó natural park, located between Xàbia and Dénia, has been closed to visitors today to avoid crowds during the eclipse and reduce the risk of fires.

The towns of Xàbia and Dénia have sealed off access to the Montgó natural park today. The measure was taken to prevent crowds of people intending to access the mountain to view the solar eclipse scheduled for this afternoon, as well as to minimize the risk of forest fires.
New information signs have been installed at the entrances using a traffic light code. Currently, the red signal clearly prohibits passage on all flanks of the park, from Cap de Sant Antoni to Punta de Benimaquia.
The objective is to ensure safety and prevent risky situations, especially given the expectation of numerous visitors interested in the astronomical event. Any attempt to access the protected area is strongly discouraged.
