The Benissa City Council has held a new session of the Intersectoral Health Council to advance the «Benissa Cuida» project, aimed at improving the population's well-being.

The «Benissa Cuida: from diagnosis to action» project, part of XarxaSalut, aims to understand the municipality's health situation and identify improvement opportunities. On September 21st, the Center of Excellence hosted a meeting where nine professionals from various fields contrasted citizen contributions.
The colloquium-style session reviewed conclusions from the «Life Environments» participatory meeting on July 8th. The process combines citizen experiences with the knowledge of municipal services.
Key issues discussed included mobility and accessibility, housing access, care needs for the elderly, and the importance of leisure and participation spaces. Cultural diversity, coexistence, public space safety, and inter-service coordination were also addressed.
In addition to identifying needs, existing resources were highlighted, such as coordination between health and social services, sports facilities, and community networks. These contributions will help complete the local health diagnosis.
The next session, scheduled for October 29th, will focus on prioritizing identified work areas, assessing the importance and feasibility of needs to establish community health priorities.
This project receives public health funding from the Ministry of Health for the year 2026.
