Around 300 people gathered yesterday to experience a memorable sporting moment in Benissa: the inauguration of the ‘Paco Sacha’ athletics track. This much-demanded infrastructure is now a reality after years of work and commitment.
The day was filled with celebration, memories, and emotion, especially significant as the track is named after Paco Sacha, a lifelong coach for the Benissa Athletics Club and a much-loved figure. Sacha was instrumental in bringing athletics to Benissa and trained several generations of athletes.
The event featured a broad representation of local sports. Club athletes performed a Lap of Honor accompanied by the Societat Lírica i Musical de Benissa, while the youngest members of the Athletics School debuted on the track with their first 100 meters.
