This initiative aims to use art as a vehicle for expression, reflection, and awareness regarding gender-based violence. It seeks to create a shared space where participants can creatively engage with this key date for combating this human rights violation.
During the sessions, fabric paintings will be created. These works will later be combined to form a large collective installation. For November 25th, the creations will be displayed on an artistic balcony in the street, bringing the project's message to the public space.
The project is organized into two groups. The youth group will meet on Wednesdays from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM at the Casal Jove, while the adult group will meet on Fridays, at the same time, at the Mestresses de Casa venue.
'Art Does Not Fall Silent' is conceived as a participatory activity that merges creativity, culture, and awareness. Art thus becomes a fundamental tool for promoting social reflection on violence against women.
The United Nations established November 25th as the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women to promote awareness-raising actions regarding this issue.
