The Ombudsman has for the second time urged the Picassent City Council to clean up an illegal landfill containing hazardous waste, such as asbestos sheets.

Despite two recommendations issued by the Ombudsman, the Picassent City Council has still not acted to clean up an illegal landfill located in a rural area. Various types of waste are accumulating there, including hazardous materials like several asbestos sheets.
The same resident who reported the local administration's "inaction" in 2020 is now threatening to inform the Environmental Prosecutor's Office about this situation, citing potential negligence regarding an environmental crime, as the problem persists over time.
