Paiporta's Department of Social Welfare has resumed the 'Cuidant en Companyia' project, offering support and guidance to non-professional caregivers in the municipality.

The program, aimed at individuals who care for family members or acquaintances in situations of dependency, provides monthly group meetings. These sessions allow participants to share experiences, concerns, and needs, as well as acquire tools to better manage situations related to family caregiving. To facilitate participation, each meeting offers two available time slots.
The upcoming sessions will take place at Inclou, located in the Plaça Major of Paiporta. The first meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, September 22nd, from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM. Following this, there will be a session on Thursday, October 1st, from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM, and another on Thursday, October 22nd, from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM. Interested individuals can register by calling 607 581 213.
The Councilor for Social Welfare, María Jesús López, highlighted that the project stems from the need to support those who provide care, as their own needs often take a backseat. López emphasized the goal of providing a space where caregivers can express their experiences and find useful resources for daily life, tailoring the content to the participants' actual demands.
For his part, the Mayor of Paiporta, Vicent Ciscar, stressed that citizen well-being is a municipal priority, particularly for those facing dependency situations or dedicating significant time to caring for others. Ciscar underscored the City Council's commitment to promoting services that address the real needs of Paiporta's families, strengthening a close, accessible, and people-centered social welfare network.
The program, developed by the specialist psychologist from the Servei d’Inclusió Social i Acció Comunitària, includes two monthly group sessions and training activities based on participants' topics of interest. The project, launched in 2024 and resumed after the DANA event, now benefits from the collaboration of the Official College of Psychology of the Valencian Community (COPCV).
