The Paiporta City Council, through its Department of Social Welfare, Equality, and Public Health, has announced the return of the Well-being and Calm Community Space for September. Given the significant demand and success since its launch in June, the initiative, developed with the collaboration of the Official College of Psychology of the Valencian Community, will double its weekly sessions.
With this expansion, the space will offer two meetings per week: Wednesdays from 6 PM to 7 PM and Fridays from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM. Activities will continue to take place at the Espai CONVIU, located at Mestre Serrano street, 23, and will remain free for all citizens.
The Councilor for Social Welfare, María Jesús López, highlighted the necessity and usefulness of the service, stating that "the response from citizens has shown that this is a necessary and useful service for the people of Paiporta." She added, "Launching a resource like this and seeing that, even during the summer months, demand and attendance remain high confirms that we have addressed a real need and must continue working to implement more accessible and community-focused emotional support and care resources."
Since June, nearly fifty residents have registered for this program, demonstrating an interest in improving emotional well-being. Following a break in August, the City Council has decided to introduce an additional afternoon session to accommodate different schedules.
"We want the Well-being and Calm Community Space to continue being a close and accessible resource, where people can find simple tools to manage stress, take care of themselves, and better face daily situations," explained López, emphasizing that the extended hours will facilitate participation for more citizens.
For his part, the mayor of Paiporta, Vicent Ciscar, emphasized the importance of emotional care within municipal policies. "Caring for people also means offering spaces and resources focused on our emotional health," he noted, highlighting the City Council's commitment to promoting proximity policies that strengthen community bonds.
The sessions are free and open to all citizens. Interested individuals can register by calling 607 581 213 or through the form available on the municipal website: www.paiporta.es/benestariclama.
