Manises once again serves as a venue for Butoni Fest, the International Cultural Festival now in its sixth edition. The event will transform spaces in València, Manises, and Alboraia into meeting points for lovers of cinema, music, and culture over several days. The city of Manises will participate with activities linked to the audiovisual world, offering the public cinematic proposals and showcasing the work of new creators.
The Auditori Germanies in Manises will play a prominent role, hosting part of the film screenings and the closing gala of the sixth edition, where awards will be presented to the winning works.
The Councilor for Culture of the Manises City Council, Xavier Morant, highlighted that “Butoni Fest has already become a fixed event for cinema lovers and new creators. In addition to the screenings, it is a platform to showcase new works”. Morant encouraged citizens to participate and emphasized the council's commitment to “diverse and quality cultural programming that creates spaces for creation and allows Manises to be part of cultural events connecting the city with other localities”.
The festival, taking place from September 12th to 20th, consolidates its commitment to diverse programming around culture and audiovisual creation, expanding its participation spaces to València, Manises, and Alboraia.
From September 14th, cinema will take center stage with a selection of national and international short films. Screenings in Manises will be held at the Auditori Germanies on September 14th and 15th, while from September 17th to 19th, the film program will move to the Cines Babel in València.
The closing gala will take place on September 20th at 12:00 PM at the Auditori Germanies, where awards will be presented to the 19 winning works. The awards will be in the form of a ‘butoni’, the festival's representative figure. Some categories will include monetary prizes: 600 euros for the best short film in the Official Section, 300 euros for the best short film in the Student Section, 200 euros for the best short film in the La Terreta Section and best FastFilms, and 100 euros for the best music video.
