The Ministry of Social Services, Family and Childhood has announced a plan for the Valencian Community that includes the creation of 24 new care facilities, with a strong focus on the L’Horta region. Municipalities such as Alfafar, Mislata, Paiporta, and Rafelbunyol will host key projects.
The program has a budget of over 132 million euros, funded by European funds and its own resources, and plans to create more than 1,800 public places for the elderly and people with disabilities.
Borja Ottobrino, Director General of Social Health Infrastructure, highlighted that this initiative represents one of the largest deployments of social infrastructure in the Valencian Community, aiming to incorporate adapted and accessible resources for the elderly and disabled.
The plan also includes facilities in the city of València, such as the Monteolivete residence and the mental health complex in La Torre, as well as actions in other towns like Sagunto, Albaida, Utiel, Castelló de la Plana, Alicante, Dénia, and Orihuela.
All new facilities will be built following criteria of universal accessibility, sustainability, and energy efficiency. The Ministry anticipates their completion between late 2026 and early 2027.
