A fire declared on Saturday morning in Manises, near the Salt de l'Aigua ravine, has required the mobilization of six fire crews. Participating in the extinction efforts are two BRIFO units, a sergeant, a forest coordinator, and an official from the Provincial Firefighters Consortium of València. Additionally, a Valencian Community forest firefighter unit and two aerial resources are also working in the area.
The fire originated in the Socusa area at 12:47 PM and spread rapidly, reaching and devastating a playground and a dog park. Consequently, several residents have decided to leave their homes and move parked vehicles away from the affected area, despite no official evacuation order from the Local Police at this time.
The well-known restaurant Suquet has closed its doors to customers due to the proximity of the smoke generated by the fire.
According to local residents, the affected area is described as a "neglected" space with abandoned warehouses. They have stated that letters have been sent to the City Council requesting the removal of undergrowth, which has facilitated the spread of the fire, without any cleaning action being taken.
