A delegation of mayors and councilwomen from the new functional area of Legnica-Glogów (Poland) visited Alaquàs Castle yesterday, Thursday, October 22nd, to learn about the monument's restoration process, initiated in 2023, and its function as an educational and cultural center.

The Councilor for Culture, Marta Murciano, hosted an official reception for the group and showed them the different areas of the monument, including the photography exhibition ‘Un año de la DANA’ from the Congress of Deputies with the Union of Valencian Journalists.
This visit is part of a more comprehensive itinerary to learn about metropolitan institutions. The tour began in the morning at the Mancomunitat de l’Horta Sud, where they had an initial meeting with its president, José F. Cabanes. He explained the region's evolution, its unique characteristics and values, as well as the impact of the 2024 DANA. Subsequently, representatives from the areas of Presidency, Employment Pact of L'Horta Sud, and Equality detailed the functioning, services provided to municipalities, and joint initiatives.
The visit continued to the Museu de l’Horta Sud, where the group learned about the laboratory for the project Salvem les Fotos. This project, led by the University of Valencia, involves the Mancomunitat and the Horta Sud Foundation.
