The Town Hall of La Pobla de Farnals officially launches PetFirst, an innovative digital tool designed to centralize information on companion animals and enhance the relationship between their owners and the municipal corporation. The presentation event, under the slogan 'Dogs Take Over the Town Hall', will take place on Friday, October 23rd, at 11:00 AM, in Plaça de Sant Vicent Ferrer.
The event particularly invites citizens who live with dogs to attend with their pets, transforming the square into a meeting point for families, animals, professionals, and animal welfare groups. The aim is to introduce PetFirst in an accessible and participatory manner.
PetFirst will allow for the centralization and digitalization of data such as identification, documentation, and vaccination records, facilitating consultation and updates from a mobile phone. According to PetFirst data, such systems can reduce the number of lost or abandoned pets by 45% to 60% through improved identification and response.
The tool also seeks to improve communication between citizens and the Town Hall, moving towards more coordinated municipal management in areas of identification, responsible ownership, prevention, and animal welfare. The project includes collaboration with veterinarians, associations, specialized shops, and 'pet friendly' establishments.
The Town Hall encourages residents to participate in this gathering, emphasizing that 'a city that knows its pets better can also care for them better'. The presentation marks the beginning of an information and awareness campaign on identification, documentation, coexistence, and responsible ownership.
