The Godella council has announced a historic reduction in the Property Tax (IBI). The tax rate will decrease from 0.7% to 0.6%, moving closer to the legal minimum of 0.4%. This measure aims to compensate for the mandatory increase in the urban waste collection fee, imposed by a national regulation from the central government, supported by Compromís and other left-wing partners.
The mayor of Godella, José María Musoles, emphasized that the governing team is using its municipal powers to protect family finances. "Faced with the tax hikes and obligations imposed by the central government and the left, this governing team responds by using its municipal tools to care for our neighbors' pockets. We are not standing idly by: what state law forces us to pay more for the waste fee, we return to families by lowering their IBI," he stated.
With this fiscal adjustment, Godella positions itself among the municipalities with the lowest tax contributions in the L’Horta Nord region, promoting a moderate and attractive fiscal policy. This initiative is part of a coordinated economic strategy of reducing tax pressure, which already includes bonuses of up to 90% on the Municipal Capital Gains Tax (IIVTNU).
In addition to the tax reduction, the municipal government plans to fully settle the debt inherited from previous administrations before the end of the current term. "We are demonstrating with actions that another way of governing is possible: we are paying off past debts and blunders, ensuring quality services, and at the same time, lowering taxes for all Godella residents," Musoles concluded.
