Paterna City Council has convened the CECOPAL today to coordinate preventive measures following the high temperature and extreme forest fire risk alert issued by the Generalitat Valenciana.

The meeting served to supervise available municipal resources and strengthen coordination between different council departments. The main objective is to protect citizens and the municipality's natural heritage during this intense heat episode.
As a specific measure, preventive irrigation has been intensified in La Vallesa forest using the GUARDIAN intelligent system. This action aims to maintain humidity in high-risk forest areas to hinder the spread of potential fires.
Furthermore, the council reminded that the city has five free chilled water fountains available to facilitate hydration for residents. Additionally, climate shelters with air conditioning have been set up in public schools hosting the municipal Summer School.
Finally, it was agreed to reinforce the dissemination of prevention advice through official channels, with special attention given to vulnerable groups such as the elderly and children.
