The Massamagrell City Council has opened the application period for the sixth edition of the Awards for the Use of Valencian in Local Commerce, aiming to distinguish establishments that promote the native language in their daily activities.

With an economic allocation of 4,000 euros, this municipal initiative is part of linguistic normalization policies and complements other aid aimed at promoting the regular use of Valencian in the commercial sector.
The awards are presented in two categories. The first will recognize the use of Valencian in corporate image, signage, printed materials, documentation, and customer service. The second will focus on the language's presence on social media, websites, and management applications. Each participant can only register in one category.
In each category, three prizes will be awarded: 1,000 euros for the first place, 600 for the second, and 400 for the third. If any award is not claimed, the amount may be redistributed to grant an additional prize in the other category.
Self-employed individuals and legally constituted companies operating in Massamagrell are eligible to participate, provided they are registered by December 31, 2025, and maintain their activity at the time of application.
Applications must include the official form, a current tax registration certificate, identification and banking details, along with a dossier proving the use of Valencian through documents, photographs, or screenshots.
An evaluation committee will assess aspects such as linguistic accuracy, the volume of material produced in Valencian, the continuity of initiatives, the visibility of these efforts, and their potential as a model for other businesses.
The deadline for submitting applications is September 3, 2026. Documentation can be submitted in person at the City Council, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, or electronically through the municipal e-office.
