The Valencian Government has confirmed a positive trend in unemployment figures in L'Horta Nord, with a 4.21% drop in the number of job seekers over the past year. Between July 2025 and July 2026, the region saw its number of unemployed individuals decrease by 641, from 15,228 to 14,587 registered.
The improvement was mainly concentrated in the services sector, which saw 695 fewer unemployed individuals, dropping from 11,620 to 10,925 seekers. Construction also experienced a decrease of 132 people (from 1,109 to 977), and industry by 184 (from 1,729 to 1,545). Conversely, the group with no prior economic activity increased by 65.68%, with an addition of 379 people, reaching 956.
The gender gap persists, with women representing 62.31% of the total unemployed (9,089 people, 355 fewer than the previous year), compared to 5,498 registered men (286 fewer).
Burjassot leads the absolute reduction in unemployment in the region, with 164 fewer unemployed (-5.72%), standing at 2,702. The improvement was particularly noted among women (-95) and in the services sector (-152). Paterna, despite being the municipality with the highest unemployment (4,298), reduced its figure by 109 people (-2.47%), with a more pronounced drop among men (-76).
Other towns such as Massamagrell (-66), Puçol (-55), Meliana (-27), Alboraia (-24), Almàssera (-40), Godella (-35), la Pobla de Farnals (-35), el Puig de Santa Maria (-25), and Rafelbunyol (-31) also experienced significant decreases.
Conversely, Tavernes Blanques leads the increases with 31 more unemployed (+6.39%), followed by Alfara del Patriarca with an 11.97% rise (14 more people). Bonrepòs i Mirambell added four unemployed, and Albalat dels Sorells one.
Foios presents a neutral balance overall (334 seekers), but with an internal shift between men and women. In municipalities with lower unemployment volumes, notable percentage drops include Rocafort (-10.74%), Massalfassar (-10.17%), and Vinalesa (-9.79%). Emperador records the largest percentage decrease in the region (-12.50%).
