The 28th 9th of October Cultural Week in Foios begins on Friday, October 2nd, and will run until Friday, October 9th, offering a week full of cultural activities, music, shows, and events for all audiences. This deeply rooted tradition in the municipality is made possible by the collaboration of associations, collectives, and citizens.
The opening ceremony will be on Friday, October 2nd, at 6 PM with the exhibition Painters of Foios and Members of the Art Circle at the Fernando Barrachina Exhibition Hall, which can be visited until the 9th. On the same day, at 7 PM, the Alameda will host La Mocadora, a solidarity initiative selling scarves and chocolates to benefit cancer research. Following this, at 7:30 PM, the 26th edition of The Taste of Our Foods, The World on a Palate will take place on the Alameda Promenade, with tastings benefiting the Association of Crohn's and Colitis Ulcerosa Patients (ACCU). The opening day will conclude at 10:30 PM at the House of Culture with the play The Incredible Murder of Ausiàs March.
On Saturday, October 3rd, the House of Artillerymen will host the presentation of the official chronicler of Foios at 7 PM. Later, at 10 PM, the House of Culture will feature The Exception and the Rule by Bertolt Brecht, performed by FET Foios Theatre School, with tickets benefiting CARENA.
On Sunday, October 4th, the Town Square will be the starting point for the Bike Day at 10 AM, organized by the Foios Cycling Club. At 7 PM, the Foios Cultural Award 2026 will be presented to sculptor Paco Corell. On Monday, October 5th, the Art Circle Workshop will offer a free introductory watercolor workshop.
Music and fire will be the highlights of Thursday, October 8th. At 7:30 PM, the House of Artillerymen will host the intimate concert Carles Dénia Univers, blending Valencian roots music with influences from flamenco and jazz. At 11 PM, the Town Square will come alive with fire, gunpowder, music, and popular culture during the La Diabòlica de Morvedre fire run.
Friday, October 9th, the Day of the Valencian Community, will begin with the Diana and announcement of the festival at 8 AM in the Town Square, led by the Colla Pepe Palau. At 12 PM, the Jove Muixeranga de València will perform along the route from Sector Sud to the Alameda. The day will continue at 2 PM with the traditional paella lunch in the Alameda Square, and at 4:30 PM with the Traditional Singing Showcase from the Pepe Palau Traditional Music Association's Singing School. The week will conclude at 6 PM in the Town Square with the concert Primavera Valenciana.
