The Almàssera City Council has taken a significant step in consolidating citizen participation by creating the Local Council for Children and Adolescents (CLIA) and revitalizing the Youth Forum. This project has received a subsidy of €6,000 from the Provincial Council of Valencia, with the support of the Conselleria de Justícia, Transparència i Participació of the Generalitat Valenciana and the collaboration of Sequoia Pro.
The culmination of the project has been the official establishment of the CLIA, which will become a permanent space for listening, dialogue, and proposals, allowing children and adolescents to actively participate in defining the municipal policies that affect them.
Throughout the project's development, participatory workshops have been conducted for both children and adolescents, accompanied by a communication strategy to promote the Council.
Another relevant action has been the drafting of the Local Council for Children and Adolescents Regulations, a document that details the functioning, composition, and principles of the participation body. To facilitate access, a Guide has been created in a user-friendly format.
