The initiative, not celebrated since 2012, was well-received by both associations and citizens, with a notable presence of families and the elderly. Throughout the afternoon, entities had their own spaces to showcase their activities through workshops, games, crafts, and sports, with particularly active participation from children. The program also included a game of Valencian pilota, a Fitkid exhibition, a storytelling session, and a fashion show.
Participating entities included La Graella, Metalfarera, Dones d’Alfara, the Traders Association, Falla la Unió, the Valencian Pilota Club, Retirees and Pensioners, AFA Ramón y Cajal, AFA CEIP Dra. Anna Lluch, the Sports Club, the Musical Group, Juniors, Cáritas, and Manos Unidas, demonstrating the diversity of the local associative fabric.
The celebration in Sant Joan de Ribera Square facilitated the participation of people with reduced mobility and families with strollers, fostering an inclusive and intergenerational community gathering. This event marked the culmination of a working process with local entities to update the associative map, improve coordination, and generate new collaboration opportunities.
The event also identified future challenges, such as finding ways to increase the involvement of adolescents and young people in these community spaces. The positive response reinforces the commitment to continue the Association Day in the coming years, solidifying it as a key space for the community life of Alfara del Patriarca.
