The Valencia Conference Centre will be the venue for this gathering, organized by the Institute of Molecular and Cellular Plant Biology (IBMCP, CSIC-UPV). The initiative, coordinated by Antonio Granell and Dirk Inzé (Ghent University), aims to establish a high-level international scientific forum.
The congress will bring together leading experts in gene editing and other new genomic technologies, as well as their application in developing innovative plant varieties. The program will address NGTs from scientific and technological perspectives, as well as from social and European viewpoints, including sessions on legislation and intellectual property.
A distinctive feature of the congress is its focus on the business sector. The scientific program will be complemented by a specific session dedicated to industry and an exhibition area where biotechnology and plant breeding companies can showcase their technologies, crops, and products related to CRISPR and other NGTs.
The goal is to foster dialogue and collaboration between the scientific community and industry stakeholders, creating a dynamic space around gene editing and its applications in agriculture. The deadline for abstract submission is September 30.
