Full containers destined for export grew by 7.14% at Valenciaport during August, reaching 78,614 TEUs. Full import containers numbered 94,888 TEUs, a 6.30% increase compared to the previous year. Conversely, transit maritime traffic declined by 10.78%, affecting the month's overall container balance, which saw a total of 467,089 TEUs, down 4.16%.
In the cumulative total from January to August, Valenciaport has handled 3,746,208 TEUs, a variation of -1.70%. Year-on-year traffic stands at 5,597,849 containers, a decrease of 0.74%.
Regarding merchandise weight, the facilities moved 6,397,007 tons in August, a 1.33% increase. In the January to August period, the accumulated volume is 52,647,748 tons (-2.63%). Liquid bulk has seen a 6.14% increase (2.65 million tons) and solid bulk a 1.61% rise (1.6 million tons). Non-containerized general merchandise totals 10.75 million tons, up 2.53%.
Vehicle traffic under merchandise regime maintains its positive trend, with 41,902 units moved in August, a 36.73% increase. The annual cumulative total reaches 367,237 vehicles (+13.14%). Rail traffic also grew, totaling 2.64 million tons between January and August, a 20.83% increase.
In terms of passenger traffic, 265,698 passed through Valenciaport in August (+8.04%). Regular line passengers numbered 154,021 (+9.16%), while cruise passengers totaled 111,677 (+6.53%). In the annual cumulative, regular line passengers reach 617,605 (+1.74%), and cruise passengers decreased by 26.42%.
