The Valencia City Council has greenlit the basic and execution project for the comprehensive renovation of the Abastos Sports and Cultural Complex, with an investment exceeding 18.4 million euros.

The Local Government Board has approved the plan for the renewal of this well-known municipal facility, located in the Extramurs district. The project, submitted by Complejo Deportivo Abastos, SL, also includes the corresponding activity project and sets a base tender budget of 18,467,207.07 euros. The objective is to modernize the premises and adapt them to current user needs.
The planned works will cover a large part of the complex's spaces, including the swimming pools, physical activity rooms, changing rooms, administrative offices, the cafeteria, and access areas. The paddle tennis courts outdoors will also be improved, and new training areas will be established.
The renovation will involve upgrading key technical installations, such as air conditioning and ventilation systems, domestic hot water production, electrical networks, and fire protection systems. Furthermore, actions will be taken on water supply and drainage, and photovoltaic solar energy will be incorporated to enhance the equipment's energy efficiency.
The project integrates criteria for accessibility, safety, sustainability, and energy efficiency, while respecting the architectural heritage of the building, which is listed as a Local Relevance Asset (BRL). The complex, situated on Alberic street, is an architectural landmark in the Arrancapins neighborhood.
The renovation is part of a service concession contract, awarded on April 17th to Complejo Deportivo Abastos, SL. This concession covers both the execution of the works and the subsequent management and provision of the necessary equipment for the center's operation.
