Maximum temperatures surpassed 39 degrees in numerous locations in the interior of the province of Valencia this Friday. Towns such as Chelva and Utiel reached 39.8 degrees, marking another day of extreme heat. The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) kept the orange alert active throughout the province between 1:00 PM and 9:00 PM, anticipating highs that could reach 39 degrees in the northern interior.
Other Valencian towns also experienced high values. In Xàtiva and Ontinyent, thermometers rose to 38.3 degrees, while Jalance recorded 38.1 degrees. The heat also extended to other areas of the Valencian Community, with Alcoy (Alicante) registering 38.9 degrees.
The provincial capitals experienced high temperatures for early September, although more moderate. Castellón de la Plana reached 32.3 degrees, Alicante 32.1 degrees, and Valencia city 31.6 degrees.
Notably, Ademuz surpassed its highest September temperature record for the second consecutive day. On Wednesday, it recorded 37.9 degrees, and on Thursday, it climbed to 38.3 degrees, once again breaking the monthly record. The previous record of 37.8 degrees on September 4, 2016, has now been exceeded over two consecutive days, highlighting the persistence of the heat in the interior.
