The third vice-president and Minister of Infrastructure, Vicente Martínez Mus, visited the renovation works on the Alameda and Marítim section of Metrovalencia Lines 5 and 7, announcing that the projects are proceeding as planned. The reopening follows the completion of work that began in late June, enabling the renewal of over three kilometers of tunnel track.
Concurrently, work on the Aeroport-Quart de Poblet section of Lines 3 and 5, which affects the late-night service on Line 3, is also concluding. These initiatives, part of the FGV 2026-2030 Action Plan, have a combined budget of 24 million euros, with 9 million already spent on the section visited.
With these improvements, Metrovalencia will begin September with full network normality, resuming its usual operating hours from September 1. The minister apologized for any inconvenience caused, emphasizing the necessity of these works to repair damage from water infiltration and decades of accumulated humidity, thereby enhancing service conditions.
The FGV 2026-2030 Action Plan allocates over 830 million euros for modernizing infrastructure and improving services for Metrovalencia and TRAM d'Alacant, with approximately 275 million earmarked for the metro and tram network in Valencia and its metropolitan area.
The tunnel works between Alameda and Marítim have rehabilitated the structure and infrastructure, including cleaning and sanitizing 14,000 square meters of walls, upgrading lighting, sealing, and drainage systems, and replacing 2,660 meters of double track and associated switches.
The works between Aeroport and Quart de Poblet are also part of a renovation and expansion project covering 14.5 kilometers of tunnel and 19 stations. Previously, structural rehabilitation work was completed between the Àngel Guimerà and Nou d’Octubre stations.
