Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat Valenciana (FGV) has called for a minute of silence next Friday, July 3rd, at 13:00 to remember the 43 fatalities of the 2006 railway accident.

For one minute, trains and trams of Metrovalencia and TRAM of Alicante in service will stop at their current stations to pay tribute to those who lost their lives and those injured in one of the most tragic events in the Valencian public transport history. The initiative, agreed upon by FGV and the workers' union representation, aims to show remembrance and homage to the victims.
The Generalitat Valenciana will also join this gesture. Flags at regional buildings will fly at half-mast for 24 hours, and a minute of silence will be observed during the Consell's plenary session. These institutional actions coincide with the 20th anniversary of the accident, which occurred on July 3, 2006, between the Plaça Espanya and Jesús stations, when a train derailed.
