The Universitat de València has published the methodological protocol for the CONFIDES project, an initiative that seeks to understand how citizens build their trust in current scientific information.

The document, titled Protocolo de la consulta ciudadana del proyecto CONFIDES: percepción pública y ciencia pos-COVID-19, details the methodology used to investigate the impact of social media, algorithms, and misinformation on the perception of scientific topics. The study focuses on three fundamental axes: vaccines, climate change, and artificial intelligence.
The consultation, held on September 27, 2025, at the Jardí Botànic of the Universitat de València, involved 118 participants. They debated in groups about current information challenges in an environment designed to foster active listening and dialogue, regardless of each person's educational level or ideology.
According to the research team, the pandemic showed that trust in science does not depend solely on data, but also on sources considered reliable and the emotional weight of messages. The published protocol aims to serve as a replicable guide for future research on the social perception of science and technology.
