The Generalitat has begun distributing 2,100 heat protection kits for people living on the streets, a measure coordinated with various municipalities and social organizations.

The packages, distributed for the third consecutive year, contain essential items such as thermal bottles, sunscreen, caps, and mosquito repellent. This year, as a new feature, protective glasses for the eclipse and information leaflets have been added for municipalities in the provinces of Castellón and Valencia.
This initiative is part of the Regional Protocol for Action against Weather Inclement Conditions. The main objective is to mitigate health risks posed by high temperatures for those living on the streets, especially in towns with more than 25,000 inhabitants.
The distribution is carried out in collaboration with the city councils of Gandía, Torrent, Elche, Castellón de la Plana, Alicante, and Valencia. According to the regional administration, the relevant department has increased the budget allocated to the care of this group to strengthen social inclusion measures.
