Valencia Basket has set the schedule for the first team's pre-season, led by Xavi Albert, for the 2026-27 season. This preparation period will be unique due to the overlap with the FIBA window and the early start of official competitions.
The 'taronja' team will play three friendly matches before their official debut. The first engagement will be the semi-final of the Supercopa Endesa, on Saturday, September 19th, against Barça.
The pre-season will officially begin on Monday, August 17th, with the players' arrival. They will undergo medical and physiotherapy check-ups, as well as physical tests at the facilities of the official medical provider, Hospital Quirónsalud València. On-court training will commence on Thursday, August 20th.
Following the initial training sessions, there will be a break for the FIBA window for the 2027 World Cup qualifiers, taking place between August 24th and September 1st. Once the international players return, full-squad training will resume to prepare for the first friendly match.
The first friendly will be held on Monday, September 7th, against Casademont Zaragoza. This year, for the first time, it will take place at the municipal pavilion in Benicarló.
Subsequently, on Thursday, September 10th, the team will travel to Galicia to participate in the eleventh edition of the Encesta Rías tournament. On Friday, September 11th, they will face Monbus Obradoiro at 9:15 PM. The following day, they will compete for third and fourth place (6:00 PM) or the final (8:30 PM), depending on the outcome of the other semi-final between Baskonia and Alba Berlín.
