The image of the Christ of Health was embarked to be taken to the ‘Lluent‘, the heart of the Albufera, accompanied by hundreds of faithful in dozens of boats. There, the parish priest of El Palmar officiated a blessing of the waters, praying for a good year for those who depend on them.
After the ceremony, the boats returned to the port of El Palmar. One of the most anticipated moments was when the image bearers lifted and fully turned the effigy to general applause, before returning it to the parish.
The celebration continued into the night with a typical Albufera ambiance, including coca Cristina and mistela on board the boats. Among the attendees were the 2026 Fallas Queens of Valencia and their Courts of Honor, candidates for the 2027 Fallas Queens of Valencia, the Fallas Queens of El Palmar, and representatives of other Valencian festivals.
Participating in the pilgrimage were Vox spokesperson and second deputy mayor of Valencia City Council, José Gosálbez, the councilor for Festivals and Traditions, Mónica Gil, and various municipal and provincial authorities, highlighting the special significance of the 50th anniversary of this tradition.
This celebration, one of the most emblematic traditions and identity markers of the Valencian people, underscores the municipal commitment to the conservation of the unique environment of the Devesa-Albufera.
