Investment in the Orquestra de València's personnel has reached 9.7 million euros in 2026, an increase of 4.2 million from the 5.5 million in 2021. This 76.6% growth reflects the effort to strengthen the stable workforce and ensure the necessary resources for artistic activity.
Culture Councilor José Luis Moreno highlights that "investment in personnel is the main axis of the effort made by the Palau de la Música to consolidate the artistic project of the Orquestra de València." The budgetary increase has allowed for the reinforcement of the stable structure and improved planning capacity.
The staff consolidation process includes the announcement of 29 professorship positions between 2024 and 2026, representing the largest stabilization effort for the ensemble. Positions for contrafagotto, trombone, violin, horn, and trumpet have already been filled, with remaining violin positions to be covered soon.
Another significant milestone has been the integration of 14 orchestra members previously administratively attached to the Valencia City Council, unifying management under a single organizational structure.
Labor improvements have been implemented, such as compensation for the acquisition of consumable materials, and efforts are underway to fill over twenty technical and support staff positions to strengthen the organizational structure.
The renewal of Alexander Liebreich as principal conductor and artistic advisor for the next five seasons ensures the continuity of a project that promotes contemporary creation and the orchestra's presence on national and international stages.
The Orquestra de València has recently performed at the Auditorio Nacional de Música in Madrid and debuted at the Musikverein in Vienna, confirming its growing artistic recognition.
International projection is further enhanced by the resumption of recording and audiovisual activities, including recordings with the Accentus Music label and participation in productions for ARTE, Mezzo, ORF, NHK, and RTVE.
