The Generalitat Valenciana has ordered the confinement of the municipality of Gátova (Valencia) via an Es-Alert message, due to smoke from the active forest fire in Segorbe (Castellón).

The Emergency Coordination Center has issued an alert to confine the population of Gátova due to the proximity of smoke from the forest fire burning in Segorbe, within the municipality of Castellón. This fire has been classified as level 2 of the Valencian Community's Special Plan for Forest Fires (PEIF).
Currently, approximately 30 ground units and 17 aerial units are working to extinguish the fire. Level 2 of the PEIF is established when a fire can cause serious damage to the population or non-forest assets, requiring immediate protection and relief measures, as well as the possibility of incorporating extraordinary resources.
The decision to confine the inhabitants of Gátova was made due to the presence of smoke. Residents are asked to remain indoors, close windows, doors, and ventilation, and turn off air conditioning and extractor fans. They are also urged to stay informed through official channels.
