From September 14th to 21st, environmental educators from EMTREduca are carrying out awareness-raising activities to promote waste reduction and selective separation, as well as its connection to sustainable mobility. Travelers and passers-by can also resolve their doubts regarding waste separation and learn about the services EMTRE offers to citizens.
The campaign, being held for the first time this year, joins European Mobility Week and combines public transport with environmental education. The managing director of FGV, Alfonso Novo, highlighted the importance of collaborating with EMTRE to work towards a more sustainable metropolitan area.
The president of EMTRE, Emilio Belencoso, stated that this participation is a great opportunity to work on key concepts such as waste reduction or separation in a high-traffic area like metro stations.
The activity schedule includes information points at the stations of Manises (yesterday), Alboraia Peris Aragó and Quart de Poblet (Wednesday), Mislata (Thursday), Torrent Avinguda (Friday), Xàtiva (Sunday), and Colón (Monday 21st).
The EMTREduca program is funded by the Generalitat Valenciana. EMTRE is responsible for the treatment of organic and residual waste and manages the network of eco-parks for the 45 municipalities in the Metropolitan Area of Valencia, serving over 1.6 million people.
