The proposal includes the occupation of an area of 80,704 square meters with the aim of building and operating its own ro-pax terminal. The company has requested that this concession period last for 35 years, as reflected in the Official State Gazette.
This new request is presented as an alternative to the land that was revoked from the company last year. On that occasion, the planned location was between the Poniente and Túria docks. The decision to revoke the previous concession responded to the port authority's desire to improve the integration between the port and the city, as well as to optimize technical solutions in that area.
Currently, at the Muelle Sur, the shipping company already carries out operations using a removable infrastructure, with a prior authorization to occupy a space of 523.5 square meters. This facility has served as support for the regular line connecting the Valencian port with Algeria.
