The Department of Urban Mobility and the Local Police of Villena have warned about potential traffic complications during the Moros y Cristianos festivities and have requested citizen collaboration to minimize traffic jams and motor vehicle saturation.
The City Council has particularly emphasized the recommendation to limit car travel within the city during the celebration days and the days leading up to them, as the installation of festival-specific elements hinders normal circulation.
The Councilor for Urban Mobility, Francisco Iniesta, recalled that Villena is a city where internal travel on foot can be done in a few minutes, and that the presence of festive elements complicates private vehicle mobility.
Along the same lines, the Councilor for Commerce, Paula García, stressed the importance of walking for necessary shopping during this festive period.
The Local Police urge respect for Loading and Unloading zones, as well as bus stops and garage exits, aiming to facilitate traffic for professionals who continue working during these days.
