After a week marked by a heatwave that brought temperatures above 40 degrees in some parts of the province, the weather took a radical turn this Friday. The Alto Palancia region witnessed a strong storm that surprised its inhabitants with rain and, notably, with falling hail.
Pina de Montalgrao was one of the most affected localities, with hail falling in its streets. Although the hailstones were not large, the phenomenon was surprising given the time of year, which is more typical of other seasons.
On this same day, several areas in the interior of Castellón were also affected by fires requiring the intervention of the Provincial Firefighters Consortium, such as those recorded in Lucena del Cid, Montanejos, and Cirat. The fire in Lucena del Cid posed the greatest risk during extinguishing efforts.
